Watch the 51-second demo on YouTube — creating a highlight, adding a note, and seeing it restored in place after the page reloads.
Highlight, annotate, find later
- Four colors; add a note to any highlight.
- Select text to get a floating toolbar, or use the right-click menu.
- Side panel lists all highlights grouped by page, with a color filter and full-text search (quote, note, page title, folder, tags). Click a highlight to jump back to its spot on the page.
Highlights that survive page changes
- Each highlight is restored by matching the quoted text plus a short snippet of surrounding context — not character offsets or XPath, which break when a page is edited.
- If a highlight can no longer be located, it is never silently dropped: it stays in the side panel marked “not found”, and you can re-locate it by selecting the text on the page and clicking Bind.
Import & export
- Weava CSV import: a preview shows per-page counts plus duplicate and unusable-row tallies before anything is written. Imported highlights re-anchor when you open the page.
- Export your data at any time to JSON, CSV, or Markdown. Your data is never held hostage.
Private by default
- No account, no sign-up. Highlights, notes and settings are stored only in your browser’s local storage (
chrome.storage.local) and are never uploaded. The one exception is optional Pro activation: the license key you paste is sent to Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) to verify it — at activation and on a re-check about every 30 days — and nothing else is sent. If you never activate Pro, the extension makes no network requests at all.
- No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
Limits, stated plainly
- No PDF highlighting in this version.
- It cannot run on browser-internal pages (
chrome://, edge://), other extensions’ pages, or the extension stores themselves.
- Re-anchoring is text matching, not magic: heavy rewrites may need a manual Bind.
