Highlighter has no account and no analytics, and we run no server of our own. Your highlights, notes, and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage; nothing you highlight, write, or visit is collected, transmitted, sold, or shared. The one exception is optional Pro activation, described below: if you paste a Pro license key, the key itself — and nothing else — is sent to Gumroad to check that it is valid. If you never activate Pro, the extension makes no network requests at all.
When you create a highlight, the extension saves the highlighted text, a short snippet of
surrounding context (used to find the spot again), its color, your note, the page URL and
title, and timestamps. Imported highlights may additionally keep the folder and tags from
the imported file. All of this lives in chrome.storage.local on your own
device, inside your browser profile.
To render and restore your highlights, the extension's content script reads the text of pages you visit in your browser only, matches it against your stored highlights, and wraps the matching ranges. This processing happens entirely on your device; page content is never copied out, stored separately, or sent anywhere.
Pro is optional. If you buy Pro and paste the license key Gumroad issued into the side
panel, the extension sends that key — together with the product ID, and nothing else — to
Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) once at activation to verify it, and re-checks it
about once every 30 days after that. No highlight, note, page content, or usage data is
ever included. The verdict is cached locally, so Pro keeps working offline between checks.
Before the first check, the browser asks for an optional permission covering only
api.gumroad.com. If you never activate Pro, the extension sends nothing
anywhere. Gumroad handles the key under Gumroad's own privacy policy.

Import reads only a CSV file that you pick with the file chooser. Export downloads a file (JSON, CSV, or Markdown) to your device when you click the export button. Both are local file operations; no data leaves your device.
Delete individual highlights in the side panel, or remove the extension from your browser — uninstalling deletes all locally stored data with it. We run no server, so there is no server copy of your highlights or notes to request deletion of. (If you bought Pro, Gumroad keeps its own purchase records under Gumroad's policy.)
If a future version changes any of the above (for example, an optional sync feature), this page will be updated before that version ships, and any feature that transmits data will be opt-in and off by default.

为渲染与恢复高亮，内容脚本会读取你所访问页面的文本，但仅在你的浏览器内与本地 保存的高亮做匹配并包裹对应区间。处理完全在本地进行；页面内容不会被复制出去、另行存储 或发送到任何地方。
Pro 为可选付费功能。若你购买 Pro 并把 Gumroad 发放的激活钥匙粘贴到侧边栏，扩展会在
激活时把该钥匙（连同产品 ID，除此之外别无其他数据）发送给 Gumroad（api.gumroad.com）
验证一次，其后约每 30 天复查一次。高亮、备注、页面内容与使用数据从不包含在内。校验结果
保存在本地，复查间隔期间 Pro 可离线使用。首次校验前，浏览器会请求一个仅覆盖
api.gumroad.com 的可选权限。不激活 Pro，扩展不会向任何地方发送任何数据。
Gumroad 对钥匙的处理适用 Gumroad 自身的隐私政策。

可在侧边栏逐条删除高亮；或直接卸载扩展——卸载即删除全部本地数据。我们没有服务器， 因此你的高亮与备注不存在需要申请删除的服务器副本。（如购买过 Pro，Gumroad 会按其自身 政策保留购买记录。）
若未来版本改变以上任何一条（例如增加可选同步功能），本页会在该版本发布前更新， 且任何会传输数据的功能都将默认关闭、需你主动开启。
