LocalDevKit is a planned native macOS toolbox for the data chores AI-assisted coding creates every day: a JSON response too large for your editor, a log you cannot paste into a web tool because it contains tokens and customer data, a cURL command to turn into code, a prompt whose token count you are guessing. Every tool would run locally on your machine — no upload, no account, no subscription. It is not built yet. This page exists to answer one question first: which of these tools, if any, are worth building?
The first version, if built, would ship at most 8 tools. Registrations decide which ones — that is the point of the top-3 question in the registration email.
Registering is just sending one email — no payment, no pre-order, no commitment to buy. Please pick your top 3 tools from the list above and say what you use today: those answers decide both whether this gets built and what ships first.
Register interest (send an email)This app is not built yet. Development will only begin if 30 people join this waitlist by October 31, 2026; if that goal isn't met, the project will be dropped and every registrant notified by email. The price and threshold are test parameters for this validation, not market conclusions.
Can I use it now?
No. Nothing has been built; this page is the whole thing.
Does registering mean I have to buy it?
No. It only means "notify me if it launches". Decide when there is a real product to look at.
Why macOS first, and what about Windows?
The clearest paid evidence in this category is a Mac tool, and each platform gets its own native build rather than a cross-platform shell. Registrations are split by system so a strong Windows showing can change the order; a Windows version sold directly would not need a store account.
Why not just use free tools?
For most tasks, you should. This idea only survives if the large-file, AI-data, and redaction gaps are real for enough people — the waitlist is how that gets tested before any code is written.
